Scripture: “For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:10).

I love the story about the elderly man, almost bent double, who emerged from his doctor’s office much straighter and taller. “It’s a miracle,” his friend exclaimed. “What wonderful medicine did the doctor give you?”  The old fellow chuckled. “No medicine–just a longer cane.”

As my years increase, I too slump. Every photograph reminds me of the need to sit up straighter and square my shoulders.  But this is only the outward appearance. Inside, my growing relationship with Jesus and His wonderful peace strengthens me.

This is no artificial crutch, as atheists claim. There is real peace and security in Jesus’s presence.  His words are a light to my path .
